"Why Should I BEE Discouraged?"

There are a lot of things that can happen in life, discouraging things. Life rolls on, day after day, then, one day, an illness takes over. Where did this come from? How did this happen? How did it get this bad? So many questions, and so few answers. There is no quick fix and recovery will take time, days, weeks, months. Health, it's something so many take for granted.

How do I deal with something like this? You may suggest, go to God. Yes, I agree! I pray, then go to the scriptures and pray some more. When bad things happen, I choose to bee-lieve that something good will come of it. I don't know what, when or where, but it will, maybe directly or indirectly. Is this an example of faith?

I revisit the words of a song my dad sang many times:

Why should I be discouraged, why should the shadows come?
Why should my heart be lonely and long for heaven and home?
When Jesus is my portion, a constant friend is he.
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know, he watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow and I know he watches me.

"BEE Faithful!"

Today on the Christian calendar marks the birth of the Church - Pentecost. The church is not a building, it is a body of believers in Jesus Christ! Tonight at our chapel service, the message was so timely, I wanted to share it with you.

Now a days, so many have fallen away from the church, some may say - Why go to church? There are four key points:

1. CHURCH provides us with worship. It prepares us , strengthens us, helps us to reconnect with God. Helps us grow strong in faith.
2. CHURCH provides christian education/Discipleship, helps us to discover spiritual gifts to help us serve, helps us to grow spiritually, helps us to find hope.
3. CHURCH provides fellowship, opportunity for close relationships, like a second family in the body of Christ with a bond in Jesus, that will stand by you in the good and bad times.
4. CHURCH promotes evangelism, challenges us to be an example to others - to the churched and unchurched, we are to share the Light of the world, reach out to family and friends, as well as the world of hurting people, get involved in missions. We are to work together, bonded together by Christ's love.

BEE Faithful! Grow in the body of Christ. You can make a difference in your spiritual journey and in the lives of those around you!

Happy Mother's Day!

There is no greater joy than holding your newborn child for the first time. Months of anticipation, waiting for the day of delivery of God's gift to us. A little hand grasps my finger, I look into these dark eyes and feel a connection like no other.

Celebrate the love of your mother and of being a mother. There are other special women in our lives - the ones that are "like mothers" to us. You probably have some one in mind. To me, they are/were supportive, comforting, offered loving advice, fun to be with, among other qualities.

In my life, I have been fortunate to have strong women that have influence me and shared a special relationship - like a mother to me.

Celebrate Life! Celebrate Mothers!

"Bee Dance" of Life

Have you ever seen a BEE hive?

God's creation can be observed, all organized, busy and productive. Each BEE, along with the others, is a a wax producer, comb builder, honey maker, pollinator, guard and hive custodian. BEE-ing observant, you can see the coordinating patterns of the "BEE dance".

As I am continually in progress of doing my "BEE dance" of life, my focus is on the moves, the details and the responsibilities. It is so easy to get distracted from what really matters.

My prayer, O God, help me to be focused on You!

Blessed Assurance

"Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine"! As the words of the old hymn come to life when we sing them, I am reassured that He is with me now and forever. When life gets too crazy and runs me down, I come back to this blessed thought.

I thought I would try this blogging thing again. Uncertain where it will lead or what I might contribute to those of you in internet world. One belief that is strong within my soul is the need to stay connected to family and friends. Maybe in some small way I can accomplish this goal by sharing a few words and thoughts.
